We’re baaaack! You can finally stop harassing the sh*t out of me on every social network in the world, LOL. This week, Joey, Rory and I discuss the Irving Plaza tragedy, Jay Z’s new hunger, The Mission and much more!

Last month, New York rappers Joey Bada$$ and Troy Ave traded a few subliminals on Twitter, after Joey didn’t take too kindly to Troy‘s claims that his official first-week sales of 7,700 units as an independent artist was a huge deal. As Joey is independent as well, he tweeted the following:
“Reminder: Joey Bada$$ sold 57,000+ albums in his first week, INDEPENDENTLY… At 20 years old… $10/album… 85% of shares, do the math….That makes me the #1 Independent Hip Hop artist/brand in the world….”
Naturally, an exchange then ensued. Appearing on Hot 97‘s Ebro In The Morning this week to promote the first annual #STEEZday concert (in honor of the birthday of the late Capital STEEZ of Joey‘s Pro Era crew,) the Brooklyn emcee said the following:
Yesterday marked the 23rd annual Summer Jam concert from Hot 97, and another epic night for the record books! I was frazzled for a majority of the show because I signed up to work, and was assigned to handle all things Fetty Wap and Ty Dolla $ign…which sounded fun in theory, but DAMN it was a lot of work! Needless to say, I missed about 90% of things that happened – and that includes all that drama outside. My mother actually was texting me in a panic making sure I was okay, and I had to ask her what she was talking about because we were calmly sitting around sharing “deez nuts” jokes backstage at the time. LOL! It’s a shame a few bad apples attempted to spoil the whole bunch, but they ultimately didn’t – as the show went on inside without incident, and for the tens of thousands that did get in, it was an amazing time!
SO much went on behind-the-scenes and on the stage, so I’ll start from the beginning at the Festival Stage.
On behalf of Edifice Agency, I helped put together the 5-year-anniversary party for Pusha T’s clothing line, Play Cloths.
Despite an insane blizzard outside, tons of people came out and we had an amazing night! Big thank you to Jas Fly, Jamal (Inf), Lowkey, Yaris, Troy Ave, Jeny Romero, Peeje T, Christian Castro, Rich and everyone else who came through to support my event! And of course, KING PUSH!
This month, I was contracted to bring influencers to check out Pusha T’s clothing line Play Cloths at their NYC showroom. Shout to Nipsey Hussle, Troy Ave, Fredo Santana and Rob Hill Sr. for coming by!
