What could this be, what could this be! Okay well…I actually know, but I’m not at liberty to say just yet. I’m sure you guys can imagine just how excited I was when my favorite artist (Ty Dolla $ign) linked up with my favorite newcomer (DeJ Loaf) and one of my looongtime favorite rappers (Ms. Martin) on set in NYC yesterday. It’s dope to see established artists embracing a burgeoning one, and with the way “Try Me” is blowing up right now, I can see DeJ being around for a long time to come. (If you missed my interview with DeJ, check it out here to get to know her a little better!)

“What Just Happened? @therealremyma @tydollasign?” DeJ teased on Instagram. “Can Y’all Guess? #TryUs.” Remy posted a similar caption as well:

TRY ME!!! Nothing but genuine luv for @dejloaf and @tydollasign #WeAround #RemyMa

FYI – there are hints all in both of their captions…but you’ll just have to wait and see what it is! More pics below.

#WCW: Time To Bring Girl Power Into Hip-Hop!

Nicki Minaj, Igga Azalea and hopefully soon Remy Ma are making their way up the charts, and although they are often pitted against each other, it’s a blessing and very rare in hip-hop to have more than one relevant “femcee.” After Remy was released from Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women in New York earlier this week, she went straight to the studio to work on what was originally purported (by the media) to be a diss track to Nicki and Iggy, a remix to DJ Khaled‘s “They Don’t Love You No More.” She later went on to clarify that it certainly was no diss, and that she’d actually like to work with both of the ladies on a future release. Great, one flame put out…but a new one sparked up the very next day.

(Photos) Remy Ma Pool Party [Spa 88 – NYC]

I’d been a huge fan of Remy Ma since 2004, and in June 2007, saw she was having a pool party with the Murda Mamis in NYC. Being cool with 1st Lady El, I hit her up to ask if I could go because I HAD to finally meet Remy. I linked with El and went, and – mission accomplished!

As we were there, I saw a girl walk in that looked SO familiar. I’m looking at her and looking at her, thinking to myself, “Was she on a reality show? Is she a model? Ugh, how do I know her?!” It wasn’t until she left the room that it dawned on me – that’s that Nicki Minaj girl that I like on MySpace!

She had nothing out at the time but her segment on the Come Up DVD and just one song with Wayne on his mixtape that came out the month before, “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop.” When I’d heard the song back in May, I had looked her up on MySpace and sent her a message that I thought she was dope and was looking forward to her mixtape, and she’d replied and told me was coming out in the summer.
