I ended up really drunk before this episode so – there’s a lot of that. LOL! We also discussed the amazing feedback from last week’s show, how “ghostwriters” and “ghost producers” work and then I was bragging about my vagina so Franny got someone on the phone to get the real P report. LMAO!

Of course we talked Nicki Minaj on episode 81 this week! I had a very interesting story to share, which might give you some insight some of her moves. We also discussed a beautiful benefit concert that happened in the Bay, parents dealing with the loss of their child, a hilarious scam pulled off by none other than Guapdad4000 and more!
You can also listen to Episode 82, “Whore Tour,” here because I wasn’t there so it doesn’t deserve its own post. I called in though! LOL!
If you frequent this site, then you’re well aware of I’ll Name This Podcast Later, the podcast I’ve been doing weekly with Joe Budden for MONTHS now. Every single week, we discuss current events, we make jokes on each other and other people, we share opinions…we have a show. That’s how shows work. It’s not a podcast about Joe being a rapper, because maybe then opinions wouldn’t be warranted. But it’s 3 friends – one of which happens to have a larger following because of his OTHER work – who come together on a weekly basis for a light-hearted podcast of nonsense.
That being said, it honestly surprised me when Joe‘s comments about Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj‘s relationship on last week’s episode (number 20) made headlines. While we discussed the happenings at the 2015 BET Awards, Joe made a joke about how he was saving pictures he saw of Meek looking at Nicki the entire show. He then said the following:
Yesterday marked the 23rd annual Summer Jam concert from Hot 97, and another epic night for the record books! I was frazzled for a majority of the show because I signed up to work, and was assigned to handle all things Fetty Wap and Ty Dolla $ign…which sounded fun in theory, but DAMN it was a lot of work! Needless to say, I missed about 90% of things that happened – and that includes all that drama outside. My mother actually was texting me in a panic making sure I was okay, and I had to ask her what she was talking about because we were calmly sitting around sharing “deez nuts” jokes backstage at the time. LOL! It’s a shame a few bad apples attempted to spoil the whole bunch, but they ultimately didn’t – as the show went on inside without incident, and for the tens of thousands that did get in, it was an amazing time!
SO much went on behind-the-scenes and on the stage, so I’ll start from the beginning at the Festival Stage.
In April or May of 2007 (my sophomore year of college,) I was riding in the car with my then-boyfriend, excitedly listening to Lil Wayne‘s new mixtape The Drought 3, when I heard a really dope female voice on “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop.” Interest piqued (as I always appreciate a dope chick,) I picked up the case to see what name was listed, and made a mental note to Google “Nicki Minaj” when I got home later that day.
After some Googling in my dorm that night, I landed on her MySpace page, and I was excited to see she was SUPER fly, and had a few more really good songs as well. Being the random person that I am, I sent her a message and told her how much I was feeling her stuff, and asked how I could get my hands on more. She wrote back pretty quickly and was super sweet, thanking me and letting me know her debut mixtape would be dropping in about a month. She even left one of those ridiculous glittery “showing love” GIF’s on my comments that we all used to use. LOL!
Nicki Minaj took to Twitter earlier today for a brief Q&A with her Barbz, in anticipation of her forthcoming album The Pinkprint, in stores December 15. During the chat, Nicki answered questions about almost every song on the album she’s dubbed “by far [her] best,” so we’ve gathered them all to give you a track-by-track breakdown!
She also revealed that she’ll be embarking on a tour tentatively titled The Pinkprint Tour in 2015, with tickets going on sale at the end of the month.
As for this weekend’s Saturday Night Live performance? We’ll be getting a live rendition of “Bed Of Lies,” “Only“…and something new! Wonder what it will be! Get the 411 on The Pinkprint‘s tracks below.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery…unless you’re Lil Kim, in which case intimation is the cause for a never-ending feud. For the second time in the course of a week, the veteran MC (and new mother!) has released a diss track (read: struggle song) aimed at her arch nemesis, Nicki Minaj.
“It’s looking like I’m headed back behind bars again/cause b*tches wanna start with Kim and I ain’t with the arguing,” Kim raps on “Identity Thief,” adding, “Anything you try to do, I done did it/ The Queen’s back, b*tches come get it.”
Kim, you are the Queen, yes…but you are certainly not back. In fact, you’re regressing immensely, and it makes us pretty sad because your legacy is one for the books. Where’s the Kim that spit venom on an escalator? Where’s the Kim that rapped about her “Crush On You” while rocking every color wig under the sun? Hell, we’ll even take the Kim that put her “Lighters Up” when she got out of jail in 2005. Between the endless plastic surgery and her apparent obsession with Nicki (who has been the only female raptress since Kim‘s heyday that actually gave her competition for the crown,) it’s looking like the Queen Bee has a very, very deep-rooted insecurity issue.
