I got to meet Jared Leto at the Staples Center because Ebro was hosting the ACLU Fundraiser Concert, a really dope dude by the name of Elijah (@elikb23) made a sick ass painting of me, we went to Vegas with MGK and Lil Wayne, I went to YG‘s birthday party and I hosted a party in LA.
You know the drill – none of these things in the last two months really deserve their own post, but they’re pretty damn cool so I have to share.
Over at Hot 97, Gucci Mane, Jeezy, Common, Noreaga, The LOX and the one-and-only Erykah Badu rolled through. I also hit up Tyler The Creator‘s Camp Flog Gnaw in LA, went bowling with Ty Dolla $ign and 24Hrs, hung out at MGK‘s sold out NYC show and celebrated the launch of Jimmy Jazz‘s Timberland collab, the “Sesame Chicken” boot, with Laura Stylez, Bodega Bamz, Joell Ortiz and more.
Machine Gun Kelly was in NYC for a sold-out show on his Alpha Omega tour, so he stopped by Ebro In The Morning to discuss his new song, “Bad Things.” The track is his first-ever Top 40 record (“Wild Boy” only hit #89 believe it or not!,) and it features Fifth Harmony‘s Camila Cabello.
During the chat with Rosenberg and myself, MGK discussed how LeBron James breathed life into Cleveland, why he turned down a movie role over the N-word, being welcomed by the Zoo Gang while filming a video in Paterson and more!
Tune into the interview below. “Bad Things” is available now on iTunes.
French Montana hit the station, I hit Ty Dolla $ign‘s album release party and ran into 40oz Van and iLoveMakonnen and I kicked it with MGK on his album release night.
I went to LA and kicked it with Amber Rose and RJ, I went to RI and kicked it with Lil Wayne, Tyrese, Ice Cube and Jidenna stopped by the station, and I went to parties with Justine Skye and MGK.
No, this isn’t a post to show I hung out with [my fav] Ty Dolla $ign again. LOL! (Although yes, I hung out with Ty Dolla $ign again, and as always, it was a night to remember!)
As you know, I’ve been working my butt off for years to become the media personality I want to become, and of course the journey has only just begun. However, the fruits of my labor are starting to show off, and this night, Ty and I had a long conversation about how far we’ve come. He told me how proud of me he is and how he’s excited to be able to watch my career grow as I’ve watched his since we met almost 2 years ago, and we promised each other that nothing we did means anything if in a few years when we’re way bigger, we don’t sit down for a big interview.
Back in November, I headed out to the Midwest to join Machine Gun Kelly and his EST team for the Cleveland premiere of his first-ever movie role in Beyond The Lights. During my 3-day stay, he also shot the video to his new single “Till I Die,” and I fell in LOVE with this track!
Going back to the places in Cleveland that mean the most to him, the visual to MGK‘s 216 anthem goes from the streets of some of the most notorious areas of the city, to the very first house he and his friends ever lived in together, to the club where he toasted to life and celebrated his movie role with the people he came up with (aaaand me, LOL.)
It’s been over two years since Kells released his debut album Lace Up and gained international exposure thanks to his mega-hits like “Wild Boy” and “Invincible,” and he’s finally gearing up for his sophomore effort, leading off with the Justice League-produced “Till I Die.” It’s MGK SZN, y’all! Get into the Casey McPerry-directed vid below! (And of course – look out for a cameo by me and my cell phone in the BTS at the end because duh.)
