Congrats to my mothaf*ckin’ BOY Dave East, who cracked the Billboard 200 Top 10 for the very first time with the release of his EP, Paranoia: A True Story. (Mind you, this isn’t even the official full-length album debut!) Paranoia sold a solid 26k units, securing the number 9 slot. Previously, Dave hit the chart with Kairi Chanel in 2016, which debuted and peaked at number 38.
Kodak Black had an even bigger debut with his mixtape Project Baby Two, coming in at number 2 with 50k. Earlier this year, his debut album Painting Pictures started at number 3 with 71k. Elsewhere on the chart, A$AP Ferg‘s Still Striving just missed the top 10, coming in at number 12 with 24k.
Looking ahead to next week, Lil Uzi Vert, XXXTENTACION and A$AP Mob will all debut on the Billboard 200. Uzi‘s Luv Is Rage 2 is looking at a number one debut with around 110-120k, while XXX’s 17 is looking at 65-70k (likely a number two debut) and the Mob’s Cozy Tapes Vol. 2: Too Cozy is looking at around 30-35k.
In the meantime, check out this week’s full top 10 below.
Kesha debuted at number one this week with her new album Rainbow, which is so dope to hear after her entire legal battle with Dr. Luke. The project netted 117k, and follows up her previous releases 2012’s Warrior (which debuted at number 6, 2011’s remix album I Am the Dance Commander + I Command You to Dance (which debuted at number 26,) 2010’s Cannibal (which debuted at number 15) and her debut album, Animal, which debuted at number one in January of 2010.
Moneybagg Yo’s new album, Federal 3X, debuted stronger than expected, coming in at number 5 with 30k. The initial forecast was between 15-20k, so that’s a big jump! This is the third release for Yo and his first top 10, as his two previous releases this year debuted at 97 (2 Federal with Yo Gotti) and number 177 (Heartless.)
Looking ahead to next week, A$AP Ferg, Dave East and Kodak Black will all make debuts, and most – if not all – should be in the top 10. According to Billboard, Ferg is looking at around 25k with Still Striving, Dave is looking at 20-25k with Paranoia: A True Story and Kodak is looking at around 35k with Project Baby 2. However, Hits Daily Double projects slightly different numbers for Ferg and Dave, with 21-24k and 17-22k, respectively.
We’ll have the final answers next week, but in the meantime, check out this week’s top 10 below!
J. Cole will be dropping a brand new album, 4 Your Eyez Only, in exactly one week on Friday, December 9. The pre-order has gone live, revealing there will be 10 tracks on the album. The release date is the exact same day as Cole released his double platinum effort, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, two years ago – so clearly he enjoys December 9!
Shortly after the announcement, Cole released a 40-minute documentary on TIDAL called Eyez, and it included a visual for one of the album’s songs, “False Prophets.” The lyrics are rather interesting, as Cole appears to be not only gunning for Kanye West, but taking some jabs at his homie Wale as well!
Check out the lyrics and the documentary below, along with the rest of today’s biggest stories!
Today, New Jersey police apprehended the dumbass who was a suspect in this weekend’s bombings in New York and New Jersey. The 28-year-old naturalized Afghanistan citizen Ahmad Rahami was found in Linden, NJ (as he’s a resident of Elizabeth), and was arrested following a shootout with police officers. The two officers have non life-threatening injuries, while Rahami has also been shot is being treated.
Thank God he was really awful and left a fingerprint on one of the devices, and was caught slipping today at a bar! SMH!

Remember how Kodak Black was supposed to be released from prison last week, but then police discovered two more warrants while they were processing his release? Well, one of those is for misdemeanor weed charges in Florida, which shouldn’t be much…but it turns out that the other one is for sexual battery. Yikes!
The Florence County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed to XXL that the charge stems from an incident at a hotel in Florence, South Carolina on or about February 7, 2016.
After a judge cleared Kodak Black on a ton of serious charges yesterday, it turns out he’s going to be stuck in jail still anyway, as he has more outstanding, unrelated warrants.
As the Broward main jail was processing the 19-year-old’s release yesterday, they discovered two more warrants – one out of St. Lucie County, Florida and the other out of Florence, South Carolina.
It’s LIT! Kodak Black has been behind bars since May, arrested over outstanding warrants for false imprisonment, robbery without a weapon, operating a vehicle without a viable license, possession of a firearm by a delinquent and possession of marijuana. With a myriad of charges like that, things didn’t look good for the 19-year-old, but I’m happy to report that the Finesse Kid is coming home!
In exchange for a no contest plea, Kodak was sentenced to one year of house arrest and five years of probation. He will also perform community service, anger management and community control supervision. The EVP of legal at Atlantic Records testified on his behalf at court, telling the judge:
