For the first time, I was finally able to attend Amber Rose’s Slut Walk. It was SO empowering to be a part of something where so many people from so many walks of life come together for ONE cause – equality. We had such a great time with Amber and her family, and I ran into my boo Kehlani too! Also, a SUPER DOPE artist by the name of Toni Romiti performed and I’d never heard of her prior to this but I’m a HUGE fan now. She’s SO ill!
Me and Baelani below.
In random cool shit news, I met the legendary John Leguizamo at Hot 97, attended a screening for the new FX show Atlanta (so good!), partied at G-Eazy‘s show with Ty Dolla $ign, NEF The Pharaoh and Kehlani for my birthday and hit Wiz and Snoop‘s tour in Jersey, thanks to Chevy Woods!
I was randomly added to FamousBirthdays.com (so cool! – check it out here), I hit up my girl Kehlani‘s show in Jersey and I was in a clip on CNN when they were talking about Rosenberg! Ayeee!
Our podcast had a live show at SXSW this year, so I went down a few days early to catch some shows and have some fun! I had the pleasure of seeing Atlantic artist PJ perform a few times as well as NEF The Pharaoh, Tdot iLLdude, Mike Zombie and Chill Moody.
Thank you to Annie at Mass Appeal for taking care of me at the Mass Appeal BBQ (featuring Nas, Dave East, Mannie Fresh, Cipha Sounds, Yo Gotti and many more) and the Mass Appeal Brunch! Shout to Chuck Creekmur, DJ Carisma, DJ Damage, IAMSU!, P-Lo, Kehlani, Kamaiyah, Nineteen85 and everyone else I saw/met/got drunk with, LOL. So glad I got to see the Illmore in its last year! And the FADER Fort was dope too.
Though I originally flew out to Toronto for All Star Weekend, I ended up in Los Angeles hours later to do Grammy weekend instead. I just couldn’t handle the cold!
It was such an amazing trip, from covering Power 106′s Valentine’s concert (featuring The Weeknd, Kehlani, French Montana, Kid Ink, Tory Lanez and more,) to French’s Grammy dinner, Kehlani’s Grammy party, Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy party, various events with Mike Zombie and Rosenberg – a dope trip all around!
Just days after her 20th birthday, singer/songwriter Kehlani released the follow-up to her critically acclaimed breakout mixtape Cloud 19, You Should Be Here.
The 14-track project features guest appearances from Chance The Rapper, BJ the Chicago Kid and more, and of course plenty of production from Kehlani‘s magic-making producer, Jahaan Sweet.
“thank you heartbreak and thank you new found love this mixtape wouldn’t b possible without cha,” the pint-sized songstress wrote on Twitter amidst RTs of the outpouring of love from fans, friends and industry peers around the world. “for anyone asking… yes I wrote every word on YSBH.. no co writers.. no one in the room but me..”
Stream the project below, as well as the video for its title track. YSBH is also available on iTunes, Google Play and Amazon. Support a real one!
My fave brand Hood Goodie made a really dope graphic of me, we announced the Summer Jam 2015 lineup as a family and Ty Dolla $ign and Kehlani dropped by Hot 97!
