It has been revealed that the woman who claimed Emmett Till whistled at her, Carolyn Bryant Donham, actually lied about the whole thing, then confessed in 2007.
The admission was given to author Timothy Tyson, and Vanity Fair just did a deep dive into his new book, The Blood of Emmett Till, where he reveals the confession. A whole life lost because a woman chose to lie on a young man. SO sad. Read an except from Vanity Fair below, along with the rest of the weekend’s biggest stories.
Kanye West had another rant on Saturday night in Sacramento, this time calling out Jay Z for not calling him and Beyoncé for requesting to win Album of the Year to show up at the BET Awards. He also only performed 3 songs before cutting the show short, though he did bring Kid Cudi out for a nice moment on stage.
This quickly prompted the #KanyeIsOverParty trending topic, and later, the cancellation of his Sunday night show in LA. Thankfully, Ticketmaster is offering refunds for both shows.
Ye has not yet responded, but instead went on Instagram and posted over 50 random fashion photos. Read the full rant here, and check out Snoop Dogg and Talib Kweli‘s reactions below. Unsurprisingly, Donald Trump is now loving Ye and co-signing him. SMH.
Kanye West just may have outdone himself this time. Last night’s rant at the Saint Pablo tour was one for the books, telling the crowd in San Jose, CA that he would have voted for Trump if he’d have hit the polls, and that he’s actually genius. What?!
“I told y’all I didn’t vote, right? But if I would’ve voted, I would’ve voted for Trump,” Ye said. “There’s nonpolitical methods to speaking that I like, that I feel were very futuristic. And that style, and that method of communication, has proven that it can beat a politically correct way of communication. And I fuck with that. I actually think that his approach was absolutely genius. Because it fucking worked!”
He also confirmed he will run in 2020, and spoke on racism in America. According to audience members, a lot of people booed and walked out during the rant. Watch all the videos here, and hit the jump for the rest of today’s biggest stories.
TIP has been one of hip hop’s most vocal advocates for Black Lives Matter and the fight against racism and police brutality. His latest EP Us or Else, served as a soundtrack to the protests held around the country, while the artist encouraged the country to get out and vote on November 8.
In the wake of Trump‘s election on Wednesday, thousands of protesters took to the streets of New York City, including TIP. In a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel, he said that he happened to be recording at a studio not far from where protestors began gathering and decided to walk over.
He mentioned a few people recognized him and rather than fanning out, they thanked him for joining the cause. While TIP realizes that the damage of the election has been done, it’s still important to set an example.

It’s a sad, sad day. Donald Trump is our President, and I’m scared as FUCK to bring children into this world in the next four years. God bless us all.
Check out his acceptance speech below, along with the rest of the day’s biggest stories.
Last week, Lil Wayne appeared on Nightline for an interview, and we’ve been talking about it ever since. His comments on Black Lives Matter were disgusting, and though he’s since apologized and said that he only said it because he was upset over a previous question about his daughter. For most, that’s simply not enough.
Taking to Instagram, T.I. called his friend out in a lengthy post, telling him that he really needs to step up for the kids who look up to him, and he’s happy to sever their friendship if it means that Wayne will reflect on his actions. It’s a powerful message and one I think was necessary on a public platform, but Wayne‘s response appears to be simply, “Fk ya.” Ugh.
