Though I originally flew out to Toronto for All Star Weekend, I ended up in Los Angeles hours later to do Grammy weekend instead. I just couldn’t handle the cold!
It was such an amazing trip, from covering Power 106′s Valentine’s concert (featuring The Weeknd, Kehlani, French Montana, Kid Ink, Tory Lanez and more,) to French’s Grammy dinner, Kehlani’s Grammy party, Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy party, various events with Mike Zombie and Rosenberg – a dope trip all around!
It’s rare that Chris Brown grants an interview to a publication these days, but with an album to promote, it looks like Breezy is letting his guard down!
Sitting down with VIBE Magazine, the Royalty singer opened up seemingly more than usual, even getting into details of how he found out that his daughter was his – as well as his suspicions beforehand. (This is an account of events that his daughter’s mother Nia has since refuted in Baller Alert‘s comments, but oddly enough, they’ve taken the post down.)
Below, check out the 7 most interesting things we learned from VIBE‘s chat with Breezy!
My spirit animal Cardi B is making her Love & Hip-Hop debut this month (although they kept her out of the premiere last night,) and simultaneously launching her music career as well. After delivering a surprisingly solid verse on Shaggy‘s dancehall record “Boom Boom,” Cardi drops her first solo track “Cheap Ass Weave,” a parody about…well, cheap ass weaves.
Before the album drops on Friday, Pusha T surprised fans with the visual to “Crutches, Crosses, Caskets” off of Darkest Before Dawn yesterday. Keeping with the theme of the title, the dark video sees Push on a carousel with some nuns, dressing like and taking part in activities that one wouldn’t consider too holy.
Check out these visuals below, plus new videos from OVO signee Roy Wood$, as well as Chris Brown.
Following last year’s shin-dig with real live lions and camels, Meek Mill held his second-annual post-Grammy bash, and it was definitely another night to remember! This year it was held at a glass house (literally) previously owned by Justin Bieber, and it was GORGEOUS! Yours truly was in the building (with my squad – Morgan, Mike Zombie and Chill Moody,) as well as TONS of the biggest names in music, from Justin Bieber to DJ Mustard, French Montana, Khloe Kardashian, Chinx, Tyga, Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, YG, Bridget Kelly, DJ Carisma, Tinashe, Honey Cocaine, Chris Brown, Omarion, Lil Fizz, Sean Kingston…the list goes on and on! (That’s all I can remember seeing, but I was drunk as a skunk so I’m sure I missed a ton of names.)
The party went on without incident until around 3:30am, when (of course) a fight broke out, and the cops eventually shut it down. Reports soon surfaced that the brawl involved Chris Brown, but he took to Instagram the next day to shut it down with the following post:
We’ve not even gotten a solid 2 months of the peace treaty between longtime enemies Chris Brown and Drake, and it looks like it’s already come to an end! Well, maybe.
As previously reported, one aspect of the current ‘Drake vs. Lil Wayne‘ tour is a battle, where the two platinum-selling superstars go toe-to-toe performing some of their biggest hits. One such hit for Wayne is his feature verse on Chris Brown‘s “Loyal,” which Tune performed during the battle segment of their Chicago stop on Sunday night.
As Tune‘s verse wrapped up, Drake was sure to let his mentor know that “that sh*t sound like a f*cking car commercial and sh*t. That’s what y’all cheering for?” Hmm! Now we know that “trash talk” is a part of the show as it ties in with the theme, but it’s an interesting choice of words for a rather touchy subject, no? It becomes even more sketchy when you consider recent events, too.
I think I am entirely over Chris Brown and Karrueche as a thing. I was so for it for the longest, even got all, “Zomg Rih Rih is such a b*tch!” when Chris went back to Rihanna…but I just can’t anymore! Their breakups to make-up’s are both exhausting and corny at this point, and it’s QUITE clear that THIS ISN’T WORKING SO I NEED THEM TO STOP! Get the latest on #Chrae below.
Summer Jam 2011 was so fun! I got to see so many of my faves, and I chopped it up with Lil Wayne, Drake and Mack Maine about what they’re wearing.
Tunechi is rocking a Fame hoodie (“Shout to Breezy,” he said), shorts by All-Son (he had to double check that one, LOL) Gucci belt (“You know that’s Gucci baby!”) Famous Stars & Stripes hat and Vans kicks. Shout out to his stylist Marisa (not me, LOL.) “Marisa said I can wear different things and they don’t have to match! It still look good!” So true!
Mack Maine is rocking True Blue Jordan 3’s, Polo socks (he wanted to make sure I mentioned that, LOL), an NY Giants snapback and a “Bury Me In My J’s” shirt by 8 & 9 Clothing.
As for Drizzy, it’s all Versace velour (he was appalled that I didn’t know that by looking at it, LOL!) and some black Timbs!
