It was neck-in-neck for a second, but Kendrick Lamar prevailed and beat out The Gorillaz for his third week at number one! DAMN. sold another 173k units this week, edging out Gorillaz‘ Humans debuting with 140k.
At the number three spot is a debut from Mary J. Blige – because we all love a heartbreak album from Mary! Strength of a Woman sold a solid 78k, which makes for her highest-charting album in seven years, and her highest-selling album in six years! See, there’s always a silver lining in bad breakups…
Elsewhere on the chart, Wale made his lowest debut of his career, with Shine coming in at number 16 with 28k. He acknowledged the low sales on Everyday Struggle this week, admitting a bad first week was always his biggest fear, but now that he’s faced it, he feels like he can tackle anything. He’s also not sweating it, noting that his shows are sold out, he’s pleased with the project because he was able to be creatively free and his singles are going to hit either way. That’s the spirit!
Looking ahead to next week, Logic is likely headed for the number one spot, with early projections of around 200k. However, country singer Chris Stapleton also has the same projections with his new album, so it’s anybody’s game at this point! In the meantime, check out this week’s top 10 below.
The latest on Kanye West is not good. Despite being set to be released today, he will remain in the hospital because he is “not stable.” There is no new release day set.
Kim has been by his side tirelessly, and has not left to tend to her own stuff. As for Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the show has been suspended since Kim‘s Paris robbery, and now it will remain that will through the rest of the year. Kim has reportedly been “rethinking everything,” but there is no further info on that.
Below, Q-Tip speaks on the situation and why he wants to sit down with Ye, plus – the rest of today’s biggest stories.
YG and Nipsey Hussle are both clients of the Marathon Agency, so it’s not surprising that YG is following Nip’s successful #Proud2Pay business model and offering up a $100 project. The mixtape, Red Friday, was set to drop tomorrow (hence the name,) but surprised fans – and YG – when it popped up online a day early while everyone was enjoying their Thanksgiving dinner. Suffice to say, YG was not happy.
“WTF? Red Friday Leaked? On Piru I hate DEF JAM. Always fukkin my shitt up,” YG tweeted (presumably from the dinner table,) before he launched into a tirade of “FUCK DEF JAM” at least four times.
Regardless of the drama, the tape is still available on AudioMack, and features 8 new tracks with appearances from 21 Savage and RJ. As for the $100 model, there will be only 1,400 copies available for purchase, and YG will be bringing them to various pop-up shops to sign. The first is Beast Mode shop in Oakland on Friday.

Kanye West has canceled the rest of the Saint Pablo tour, and has been taken to UCLA Medical Center for psychiatric evaluation. Reports state that cops responded to a call for a welfare check on him at his trainer’s home, after his trainer said he was “acting erratically. He was resistant to go at first, but his management and law enforcement finally convinced him – and he was handcuffed to a gurney during transport.
Ye has also been suffering from severe sleep deprivation, which is part of the problem. Kim had been on the way to NYC to make her first public performance since the Paris incident, but pulled out at the last minute. Kris Jenner appeared at the event, however, and said Kanye is “exhausted” when asked how he’s doing.
Kanye is set to lose around $10 million from the tour’s cancellation. In related news, check out his recent interview with Surface Mag here, where he discusses Wiz Khalifa and more.
Last night, the 2016 BET Hip-Hop Awards finally aired, after being filmed weeks back in ATL. (They’re like the only awards show that doesn’t air live!) The full list of winners can be found here, and they include Kendrick Lamar (who was in attendance) as Lyricist of the Year, and Chance The Rapper as Best New Hip-Hop Artist – despite the fact he’s been out since 2012.

Kanye West cut his performance at the Meadows Festival in Queens short last night, after getting news that Kim Kardashian had gotten robbed overseas in Paris. He also started over 30 minutes late, so needless to say, this left fans pretty upset.
“I’m sorry. I have a family emergency. I have to stop the show…” Twitter user @Kozza quoted Kanye as saying in the middle of “Heartless.”
The Daily Mail reports that Kim was handcuffed and ducktaped by 5 gunmen posing as police at her hotel room, who were able to get in after threatening the concierge. They stole her $4.5 million engagement ring, as well as a jewelry box containing $6.7 million in valuables. They also took two of her phones, which of course, have a lot of important information in it.
Thankfully, Kim was not harmed, and she soon after was spotted boarding a jet, likely headed back to the States. Check out video of Kanye ending his set below, as well as the rest of the weekend’s biggest stories.
