This month, Mike Epps and A$AP Rocky dropped by Hot97, Skinny Pop sent me the ILL care package, I hit up G-Eazy‘s show with NEF The Pharaoh and I was honored to be invited to a dinner to celebrate Angie Martinez’s career, along with some other amazing women in media like Laura Stylez, Naturi Naughton, Emily B, Angela Yee, Miss Info and more!
A$AP Rocky has been extremely quiet since releasing his debut album Long.Live.A$AP. in January of 2013, then hitting the road with Rihanna that spring. Since then, the most we’ve heard of the Harlem rapper has been mainly about his outings with girlfriend Chanel Iman, but as he gears up for a sophomore project, we’re finally getting a little more from my baby daddy!
Unfortunately for me, Rock‘s new cover story for i-D Magazine shows me that we’re quite opposite, so the relationship for us probably wouldn’t work out. There’s also that whole already-having-a-girlfriend thing, but that’s neither here nor there. Check out a few excerpts from the interview below.
A$AP Rocky braved the snowstorm the North East was facing and made his way to the National Black Theater in Harlem to talk to the young men and women of the non-profit organization, Youth At Risk.
Sitting down with media personality/Youth At Risk mentor Simone “Boss Lady” Amelia, Rocky talked to the kids in a Q&A format, giving advice on how to pursue your dreams, avoid taking the wrong path, finding what’s right for YOU and more.
Check out some pics and video below. Thank you, Simone, for inviting me out!
I attended a taping of MTV Rapfix, thanks to my good friend Rob Markman!
The episode was a major one, with A$AP Rocky, Swizz Beatz, Kool DJ Red Alert, Bun B and Vic Mensa all in the building to chop it up with Sway. After the respective interviews, Rocky, Bun, Vic and an up-and-coming rapper by the name of Glam all spit some bars for the camera. Get into their freestyles below.
Hot 97 celebrated 20 years of their annual Summer Jam concert last night and, as always, the show was INSANE!
55,000 people were in attendance at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, not to mention the TONS of people around the world that tuned in via the live stream. Of course I was there floating around backstage for the night, and I caught a lot of moments that went on behind the scenes!
