Billboard Breakdown: Gucci Mane & DJ Drama’s Debuts + Khaled’s First Week Projections

Another week, another number one spot for Views. Though it was kicked out of the spot a few weeks back when Blink-182‘s new album dropped, this makes for Drake‘s 12th week atop the Billboard 200 with the project, which means he’s now one of only 9 albums to spend that long there since Nielsen Soundscan began. Let’s see how far he can go!

Meanwhile, the debuts we’re looking at this week were Gucci Mane, DJ Drama and Lil Durk. Gucci‘s Everybody Looking came in the highest with 68k, making for a number 2 spot. Durk didn’t fare so well, as his debut, Lil Durk 2X, landed at number 31 with 13k. As for Drama? Well, I’m not seeing it on the top 50 list, so I’m not quite sure where it’s at…

Looking ahead to next week, we’ll have the debut of DJ Khaled’s eighth studio album, Major Key. This is the first project he’s put out since his newfound Snapchat fame – and the numbers certainly reflect that. The project is set to move between 67-72k copies – while his last two albums’ first weeks were 25k and 27k, respectively. He’s definitely found the key!

  1. Drake – Views 85k
  2. Gucci Mane – Everybody Looking 68k
  3. Twenty One Pilots – Blurryface 36k
  4. Rihanna – ANTI 33k

  10. Meghan Trainor – Thank You 22k
