This episode is all about transitions, taking a stand and saying “Fuck The Rulez!” We talk about the growth and transition for artists like Guapdad 4000 and Summer Walker, the positive and negatives of jumping out of your comfort zone to live out your dreams, big businesses versus small business and how that tied in to the demise of blog culture, as well as KimYe and the importance of running things by your significant other. We also have an interesting conversation about “aging out of music” and how new music reaches us after a certain point in life.

As a writer, Lena Waithe is truly an inspiration to me. It was SUCH an honor to talk with her at the Queen & Slim L.A. screening, hosted by the incomparable Solange Knowles. This movie is so so so so important!
Thank you to Cashmere Agency and Brianne Pins for this moment, and to the homie Sasha for snapping away! P.S. My second book coming in 2020 and maybe my third. Pen game on a million, bih.

I did a ton of cool shit this summer!
I hosted a dope Cinco de Mayo party in DTLA alongside the legendary Suga Free, as well as women’s night at the Blind Dragon with DJ City.
I also was invited to some amazing pop-ups, including Stacks House LA (dedicated to financial literacy) and Netflix‘s summer programming preview.
BET Weekend with the homies was a vibe – especially at the Spotify party! – and as you can see, I reunited with the INTPL squad and it was such a moment that Complex even covered it! Pics below.
